Fulfilled by our friends at Verve Culture
Cantaritos de barro cups are traditional small clay cups that are staples of street fairs in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Cantaritos cups are humble, with a lot of character and history. Their clay material is perfect for maintaining a cocktail’s cold temperature, and the handmade nature evoked memories of generations worth of fun.
How They Are Made
The cups are made out of clay and we have finished our cups with a special led-free glaze to reinforce them. The maker, Rodolfo, and his team shape each cup on a manual turntable. Since he was a boy, Rodolfo has been creating Mexican ceramics with the help of his father, who taught him traditional shapes, painting, glazes, and finishes. He studied at the cultural school at El Refugio in Tlaquepaque. Learn more about him here>>

Dimensions & Care
These lead-free cups are traditionally meant to be refilled during the night at street fairs, but are usually treated as disposable. We have finished our cups with a special glaze to reinforce them. With proper care the cups could last for some time, but are still easily breakable and not dishwasher-safe. Hand wash with warm soapy water- not dishwasher-safe.
Approximate capacity is 16 oz.
5" tall x 3.5" diameter at rim x 2" diameter at base
Each cup is handmade on a manual turntable and size may vary.
